Riyadh – King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh announced on Saturday that Terminal 1 will be dedicated to domestic flights, and Terminal 2 to international flights operated by national carriers, effective Sunday.
In a notice to passengers, the airport advised those with confirmed bookings to contact their airlines to verify the status of their reservations and flights before heading to the airport.
These new arrangements come after the airport experienced a suspension of operations during October. The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) announced on October 10 that the airport had been attacked and operations were temporarily suspended pending a damage assessment and verification of the safety of the facilities, in coordination with the relevant authorities, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
On October 12, GACA announced an extension of the suspension of operations at the airport.
