Kate Gosselin is brushing off her son Collin’s recent accusations that the reality TV mom is using money to manipulate his sister Hannah.
“I know who I am and my kids know who I truly am and to me, that’s all that matters,” The “Jon & Kate Plus 8” star replied to a fan on TikTok who praised her for making “sacrifices that no mama should have had to make alone.”
The 51-year-old TLC star posted a video in celebration of her boyfriend Steve Neild’s birthday, and the comment section flooded with questions and comments related to Collin’s allegations of abuse while he was growing up, which she has vehemently denied.
Another fan wrote, “If you can’t imagine ever making those decisions for your child, consider yourself extremely lucky that it is not something you have experienced.”
Gosselin agreed with the remark, replying, “Thank you! Yes! They have NO idea how lucky they are if they have no idea what it’s like having a child or relative with mental illness.”
Gosselin starred in TLC reality series “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” which ran between 2007 and 2017. The show followed parents Jon and Kate Gosselin as they raised their 8 children — a pair of twins and sextuplets. The couple separated in 2009.
Collin’s new memoir, “In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood,” — which came out earlier this month — reveals a slew of allegations made against his mother, claiming physical and emotional abuse throughout his childhood.
Collin — who is one of the sextuplets — shared how his relationship with his siblings has become strained, and that he hasn’t talked to them in 10 years.
“I love them very much, and I want them to know that what was done to us as children is not normal,” he shared with Page Six earlier this month.
In his memoir, the 22-year-old wrote, “I sincerely love all my siblings. If any of them ever read this, I hope they know that.”
Collin has been estranged from his mother since 2016, when she sent him to live in a behavioral health institution at age 11 for alleged behavioral issues.
Jon ultimately obtained legal and physical custody of Collin in 2018 after getting him out of the facility.
The Gosselin father also obtained custody of Hannah after she left Kate’s home, while the remaining sextuplets — Aden, Joel, Alexis, and Leah — continued living with their mother along with twins Mady and Cara.
