Apple has published the overall capacity of the two-battery iPhone Duo in a regulatory filing, showing exactly how it compares to the iPhone 18 Pro and more.
Initial rumors claimed that the iPhone Duo would have the largest battery capacity of any iPhone ever made. Then real-world tests showed it performs practically the same as the iPhone 18 Pro, but now the figures are out.
As reported by Apple in its EU Energy Labels regulatory filing, the iPhone Duo's battery capacity is 4883 mAh.
For comparison, that beats the iPhone 18 Pro but is short of the battery in the iPhone 18 Pro Max. In decreasing order of battery capacity, Apple's most recent iPhones are:
- iPhone 18 Pro Max 5391 mAh
- iPhone Duo 4883 mAh
- iPhone 17 Pro Max 4823 mAh
- iPhone 18 Pro 4056 mAh
- iPhone 17e 4005 mAh
- iPhone 16e 4005 mAh
- iPhone 17 Pro 3988 mAh
- iPhone 17 3692 mAh
- iPhone Air 3149 mAh
Apple's filing does not detail how the iPhone Duo's total battery capacity is spread over two batteries. However, the figure of 4883 mAh is precisely what was rumored in July 2026, when reports said the device's two batteries would be 1921 mAh and 2962 mAh.
Real-world performance
Until the iPhone Duo is shipping and can be tested there are few Geekbench results. But the first one on the site showed that despite the difference in battery capacities, the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro performed remarkably similarly.
This makes sense, given that they use the same processor.
Where the iPhone 18 Pro scored 3390 in Geekbench 7's single-core tests, the iPhone Duo was 3986. Then for for demanding multi-core work, the iPhone 18 Pro scored 11,540 while the iPhone Duo hit 11,067.
Both comparison results were within the margin of error. This means that in use, the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro should perform indistinguishably.
