Kyle Busch’s Celebration of Life at Charlotte Motor Speedway was one of the most emotional moments of NASCAR’s 2026 season. Now, newly released television ratings offer a look at how many fans tuned in to remember the late two-time Cup Series champion.
According to Nielsen figures shared Wednesday, Oct. 14, by Sports Business Journal’s Adam Stern, the televised Kyle Busch tribute drew 193,000 viewers on FS1.
The figure comes after a weekend filled with tributes to Busch, who died in May at age 41. Family members, fellow drivers and longtime fans gathered at Charlotte to celebrate a life that meant far more to the NASCAR community than wins and championships.
Kyle Busch’s Charlotte Tribute Reaches NASCAR Fans at Home
Friday’s Celebration of Life gave those closest to Busch an opportunity to share their memories, but some of the weekend’s most moving moments came from his family.
Samantha Busch fought back tears as she honored her husband, reflecting on their life together and the family they built.
Their son Brexton delivered a tribute of his own, climbing behind the wheel of a race car, performing a burnout and recreating his father’s signature bow.
It was a familiar sight for anyone who followed Busch’s career, but seeing his son carry on that tradition gave the moment an entirely different meaning.
The FS1 audience figure reflects viewers of the televised tribute, rather than everyone who attended the celebration or watched related coverage online.
For a driver who spent decades racing in front of NASCAR fans, the Charlotte gathering offered one more chance for those fans to celebrate him.
NASCAR Charlotte Race Also Sees TV Ratings Released
The same Nielsen report revealed that Sunday’s Bank of America 400 averaged 1.48 million viewers on USA Network, earning a 0.82 television rating.
That rating matched last year’s Charlotte Roval race, although viewership fell from 1.8 million, a decline of approximately 17.8%.
The 2026 race was held on Charlotte Motor Speedway’s oval rather than the Roval, an important difference when comparing the two events.
Chase Briscoe won Sunday’s race, edging Christopher Bell by just 0.029 seconds for his second consecutive Cup Series victory.
But Charlotte’s weekend wasn’t solely about the championship battle.
For the Busch family and the NASCAR community, it was also a chance to remember one of the sport’s most successful drivers and share in the moments that made his career, and his life, unforgettable.
