Republcan Bruce Blakeman scorched Gov. Kathy Hochul during Tuesday’s sole gubernatorial debate over head-scratching past remarks when she charged that black Bronx kids don’t know what computers are.
Blakeman snapped when Hochul accused him of palling around with white supremacists.
“I never went around with white supremacists; I’m offended by that. Let’s talk about your record,” Blakeman said during the live debate on television’s NY1.

“What did you see about black kids in the Bronx? You know what? That was reprehensible.”
Hochul had made the shocking public statements back in 2024.

“Right now we have you know young black kids growing up in the Bronx who don’t even know what the word computer is, they they don’t know, they don’t know these things,” she said then.
She had to quickly walk back the statement, saying she “misspoke.”
Blakeman launched a digital ad on the statements after he opened a campaign office in the Bronx.
The fiery one-hour debate between Hochul and Blakeman say the pair duke it out over the state’s pro-immigrant sanctuary policies and President Trump.
Hochul is seeking a second four-year term after ascended to the seat in 2021 when former Gov. Andrew Cuomo resigned.
