The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has mourned the death of its former Corps Marshal, Dauda Ali Biu, describing his passing as a painful loss to the organisation and the country.
In a condolence message posted on X, the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, said Biu’s death was received with “profound shock and deep sorrow,” noting that the loss extended beyond his immediate family to the road safety community and Nigeria.
“It is with profound shock and deep sorrow that I received the news of the passing of our revered former Corps Marshal, Dauda Ali Biu, FCNA, CPA, NPOM,” Mohammed said.
He added: “His death is a painful loss not only to his immediate family and loved ones but also to the Federal Road Safety Corps, the road safety community and our dear nation, Nigeria.”
Mohammed described the late Biu as a distinguished officer whose career reflected dedication, discipline and commitment to public service.

According to him, Biu joined the FRSC during its formative years and rose through the ranks to become the seventh substantive Corps Marshal, serving from July 2022 to May 2024.

“His years of service reflected a deep understanding of the Corps’ mandate and a steadfast commitment to advancing road safety administration, operational effectiveness and institutional development,” the Corps Marshal said.
He noted that Biu’s leadership and contributions to the organisation had secured him a place in its history, adding that his legacy would remain part of the foundation on which the Corps continued to build.
“His passing is therefore not merely the loss of a former leader; it is the loss of a colleague, a seasoned professional and a compatriot who devoted a significant part of his life to the service of humanity and the safety of Nigerians,” Mohammed said.
On behalf of the FRSC management and workforce, Mohammed extended condolences to the deceased’s family, friends, associates and others whose lives he had touched.
“We share in their grief at this difficult moment and pray that Almighty God grants them the strength to bear this irreparable loss,” he said.
The Corps Marshal concluded his message with a prayer for the deceased, saying, “May Allah forgive his Shortcomings and grant him with Paradise (Aljannah).”
He added: “Rest in peace, Dauda Ali Biu. Your service to the nation will not be forgotten.”
