A shooting by an armed individual in a suburb of Paris has left one person dead and five others injured, including a 12-year-old girl.
Reuters reported on Friday evening, October 23, that the shooting occurred earlier that day when the gunman used an automatic weapon to fire at a gas station, a medical facility, and a children’s playground in the Paris suburb of Trappes.
According to the report, French authorities have arrested a 39-year-old suspect identified as Kevin T.
Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron described the incident as a “terrorist and racist” attack.
The shooting comes as France faces heightened tensions following nationwide protests that turned violent last week, with further demonstrations being planned.
