The 2027 NFL Draft will take place in Washington, D.C. next year. In that draft, the Browns still have their first-round pick, but a lot could happen in the next 7 months. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup about the team, and who they may add through the draft in a class many are calling one of generational wealth.
While we will always look at mock drafts from analysts around the space, we will also keep up with our Mock Draft Mondays here on Browns Wire.
College football season is officially underway, but now so is the NFL season. The Browns came back down to earth in Week 5 after a sloppy loss to the Jets in the rain. With that in mind, let's dive into our first 7-round 2027 NFL Mock Draft for the Browns.
Round 1: Trinidad Chambliss, QB, Ole Miss

Spins it so consistently. We can argue about his ceiling at his height, but this is a starter in the NFL pic.twitter.com/Y2KdX7pguD
The Browns need a quarterback they are willing to invest in, someone who could break through and become a playmaker. Trinidad Chambliss checks both of those boxes, and he is arguably the biggest gamer in college football at the moment. No game is ever over till the final seconds tick off with Chambliss at quarterback, and the Browns need someone like that.
Round 1: Kelley Jones, CB, Mississippi State
Denzel Ward is having a tremendous year, Tyson Campbell is showcasing himself at times, but they need someone else to handle bigger receivers. Jones has the size and instincts to be very productive in the Browns' defense and to handle the bigger receivers in the AFC North.
Round 2: Clev Lubin, Edge, Louisville
The Browns have really enjoyed the rotation of pass rushers they have had this year and the pressure they are creating. Adding someone with the motor and vicious hands of Clev Lubin would be fun. The Louisville pass-rusher could be opposite Verse and work in rotation with the existing defenders on the front.
Round 3: Tavion Gadson, DL, Kentucky

The aforementioned front of the Browns' defense has been strong this year, but they have some looming free agents. They need someone who can plug the middle and create pressure when coverage can throw them a bone. Someone like Gadson could be a first-rounder, but there remains a lot to be seen with his game between now and April. Until then, he remains a day two steal for teams in mocks.
Round 4: Nate Frazier, RB, Georgia
Quinshon Judkins has been alarming at times this season. I am not sure if he doesn't mesh with the offense, or if he simply is still not 100% from his injury. Whatever it is, I have seen enough to make running back a need, and Nate Frazier, to me, is a really fun prospect.
Round 4: Coen Echols, G, Texas A&M
The middle of the Browns' offensive line is great at the top but lacks depth. There will be two mock picks to address that, starting with Echols. I like the idea of him behind Austin Barber and Zion Johnson, much more than seeing Teven Jenkins backing them up at the moment.
Round 4: Emmanuel Oyebadejo, Edge, Florida
This is what I was talking about a couple weeks ago with 99 (Emmanuel Oyebadejo). 6’6”, 299 pounds and he moves like this 👇 pic.twitter.com/ZJVF4mxAoJ

Oyebadejo is really destructive on the Gators' defensive front. Him being added to the Browns is a bit of a luxury, but the teams that win consistently have deep benches on their defensive line. Put Oyebadejo in on passing downs, let him pin his ears back, and enjoy the results.
Round 5: Harrison Moore, C, Florida
The Browns drafted Parker Brailsford late in April's draft, but he hasn't played a down this year. Replacing him with Moore makes sense as they get another young option to help the depth at the position behind Elgton Jenkins and Luke Wypler.
Round 5: Wyatt Young, WR, Oklahoma State
Jerru Jeudy keeps getting thrown out in potential trades as the rookies emerge with larger roles in 2026. However, let's add one more young piece here. I love what Wyatt Young can do in either the slot or outside for the Browns. He would be a fun piece for them as they build out this offense with the future in mind.
Round 7: Jelani Thurman, TE, North Carolina

Jelani Thurman uses his size and athleticism to make plays currently at North Carolina. Obviously, Harold Fannin Jr. is cemented into the starting role, but adding more weapons for the redzone is not a bad thing, nor is the depth.
Round 7: Ben Roberts, LB, Texas Tech
Ben Roberts being added to this linebacker group is just a fun pick to end this draft on. He is just going to be a rotational piece with some special teams value, but Roberts plays 100 mph at all times, and every defense needs a guy like that.
