The Cyberabad Traffic Police have announced traffic diversions around IDL Lake in Kukatpally on Sunday (October 18) in view of Bathukamma festival celebrations, with restrictions scheduled to remain in force from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
According to an advisory issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic-I, Cyberabad, the diversions have been planned to regulate vehicular movement and prevent congestion on roads surrounding the lake during the festivities.
Motorists travelling from Hitech City, Madhapur and Hafeezpet towards Kukatpally Y-Junction will be diverted through Lucky Restaurant signal, KPHB 4th Phase, Road No. 1 and Remedy Hospital U-turn before proceeding towards Kukatpally Y-Junction.
Alternatively, vehicles approaching from the same areas will be permitted to travel straight from Rainbow Vista through Anjaiah Nagar crossroads, Moosapet and Vasundhara Hospital to reach Kukatpally Y-Junction.
The traffic arrangements are expected to affect motorists travelling between the IT corridor and Kukatpally during the evening hours, particularly those using roads around IDL Lake.
The police have advised commuters to plan their journeys accordingly, use the designated alternative routes and cooperate with traffic personnel deployed to regulate vehicular movement.
