MoneyGram revamps app

Available through MoneyGram's updated app and website, the refreshed MoneyGram Online experience gives consumers more ways to send, receive, hold and use money across borders.

The reimagined experience goes beyond sending money from one person to another. Consumers can receive and hold funds digitally, send money internationally, pay bills and top up mobile phones, and move between digital money and cash through MoneyGram's global retail network. In select markets, consumers can also maintain a stable, dollar-denominated balance, giving them more choice in how they hold and use their money.

Behind the experience is modern financial infrastructure, including stablecoin technology, but consumers do not need to understand or manage the technology themselves to benefit from it. MoneyGram handles the complexity of moving money in the most efficient way behind the scenes, giving consumers a simple, familiar way to move and manage money globally with greater speed and flexibility.

"Global money movement has become increasingly fragmented, forcing consumers to navigate different systems depending on how they want to pay, receive or use their money," said Anthony Soohoo, Chairman and CEO, MoneyGram. "We're changing that. MoneyGram is bringing digital money movement, cash access and stablecoin-powered services together in one connected experience. Consumers get more choice and greater control over how they send, receive, hold and use their money, wherever they are."

One Global Experience, Built for Everyday Consumers

MoneyGram's updated app and website are built around a straightforward promise: moving and managing money across borders should feel simple. Through the new experience, consumers can:

• Send money globally to bank accounts, debit cards, digital wallets, retail locations and MoneyGram app users.*
• Take advantage of MoneyGram's great exchange rates.
• Pay bills and top up mobile phones.
• Utilize MoneyGram balance to hold and use a stable, dollar-denominated balance in select markets.
• Access cash through MoneyGram's global retail network.
• Earn rewards by referring friends and family.
• Use an experience tailored to their market and preferences, with support in 40 languages.

The experience is designed to bridge digital money and physical cash rather than treating them as separate ecosystems. MoneyGram's network is uniquely positioned to combine digital cross-border payments and local cash access to meet the varying preferences of the world's communities. Consumers can choose how they send, receive, hold or access their money based on what works for them.

MoneyGram is also increasingly connecting senders and recipients within the same digital network. Consumers in the United States can now send directly to MoneyGram app users in markets including Colombia and El Salvador. Recipients can receive and manage funds digitally while retaining the ability to access cash through MoneyGram's retail network where available.

This moves MoneyGram beyond the traditional remittance model of completing a single transaction. Senders and recipients can participate in the same network, creating more ways for people to manage money across borders after it has been received.

Global Scale with the Speed of a Fintech

The launch marks a definitive milestone in the transformation of MoneyGram's global payments network, combining digital product development with a physical network spanning more than 200 countries and territories.

MoneyGram has built a common global foundation across its app, website and MoneyGram balance. This allows the company to develop capabilities once and adapt them for local languages, payment methods and consumer needs, making it easier to introduce and scale new services across markets.

Stablecoin infrastructure is part of that foundation, while the consumer experience remains designed for a mainstream audience. Consumers can access the utility of stablecoins and modern blockchain networks without needing to navigate the complexity typically associated with them.

Today, MoneyGram connects consumers to more than five billion digital endpoints, including wallets, bank accounts and cards, alongside access to nearly 500,000 retail locations worldwide. Together, that network enables consumers to move between different forms of money and different ways of accessing it, from digital value held in an app to cash collected locally.

"Our product strategy starts with the consumer, not the technology," said Luke Tuttle, Chief Product and Technology Officer, MoneyGram. "People shouldn't have to think about which product to use or how the technology works behind the scenes. They should simply be able to move, receive and use their money in the way that works for them. We've built one global platform that makes that experience simpler today and gives us the foundation to keep making it better."
