The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has announced temporary power shutdowns across its service areas from October 15, 2026, to February 8, 2027, under its Annual System Maintenance Program for 2026-27.
The maintenance work will cover power transformers at more than 130 132kV grid stations, over 1,295 11kV feeders, transmission lines, and other electrical installations. Electricity supply will be suspended temporarily on affected feeders to allow maintenance teams to complete the work.
IESCO Chief Executive Officer Engr. Chaudhry Khalid Mehmood has directed relevant departments to inform consumers in advance about scheduled outages and ensure that shutdowns remain within approved time limits. Field officers have also been instructed to supervise maintenance activities and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
According to an IESCO spokesperson, the maintenance program aims to improve the distribution network, reduce technical faults and power tripping incidents, and ensure a more reliable electricity supply, particularly during peak demand hours.
