Fabian Hurzeler has confirmed Yankuba Minteh and Mats Wieffer are closing in on returns for Brighton ahead of Sunday’s trip to Liverpool.
Both players are expected back in contention within the next week, with Minteh potentially available to face the club who showed interest in signing him during the summer.
“There is an option. Especially with Minteh, there might be an option. But definitely next week,” Hurzeler said.
“They will train tomorrow with the team and then we will see if they are available or not.
“If they are not available for this game then I am quite convinced we will see them back in the squad next week for the City games.”
Brighton face Liverpool this weekend before taking on Manchester City in both cup and league action.
Pascal Struijk also remains a doubt for the trip to Anfield after again missing out against Jablonec.
“It is not a big issue but it is something that can get bigger if you risk it too early,” Hurzeler said.
“We have so many games and we have to take care of the health of the players.
“We have to make wise decisions.”
