South African DJ Sox has shared devastating news with his followers, revealing that his son Busa passed away after a gruelling two-month battle with pneumonia. The young boy, who was just ten years old, spent his final weeks on life support in an ICU before losing his fight on Sunday, 11 October 2026.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, the veteran DJ poured his grief into an emotional tribute to his late son, describing a pain that no parent should ever have to bear.
"On Sunday, I lost you at the tender age of just ten years, and my heart is broken," he wrote. "You battled horrible pneumonia and spent two months in ICU on life support. My boy, you fought a good fight. You were so brave, and I am so proud of you."
DJ Sox pays tribute
In his post, DJ Sox leaned on his faith to find meaning in the midst of unbearable loss. He wrote that even in his heartbreak, he trusts in God's will, and believes Busa is now "resting safely in His loving arms" as one of His angels. He noted that Busa was set to be laid to rest the following day, Thursday, 15 October 2026.
He also took a moment to express deep gratitude to the medical team who worked tirelessly to save his son's life. "To all the doctors who did their best to save Busa's life, and the nurses who cared for him throughout these two months, thank you from the bottom of our hearts," he wrote. "We deeply appreciate your dedication, compassion and every effort you made to save our boy."
The tribute ended with a father's final words to his child: "I love you, my boy. I'm going to miss you every day, and I will carry you in my heart for the rest of my life. Rest peacefully, my precious son."
