LAHORE – Former Pakistan national cricket team head coach Misbah-ul-Haq has taken up a new coaching assignment after being appointed head coach of Sudurpaschim Royals for the upcoming Nepal Premier League.
Misbah-ul-Haq expressed his enthusiasm about joining the franchise, highlighting the passion for cricket in Nepal and his eagerness to experience the country’s cricketing environment.
Speaking about his appointment, Misbah said he was excited to become part of the Sudurpaschim Royals setup and looked forward to contributing to the team’s campaign.
He noted that cricket enjoys considerable popularity in Nepal, with supporters displaying great enthusiasm for the game. He added that he was looking forward to becoming part of this energetic atmosphere.
The appointment marks another coaching assignment for Misbah, who has previously held a key position in Pakistan cricket. He served as head coach of the Pakistan national cricket team, overseeing the side during an important period in its international cricketing journey.
Misbah has also been associated with Pakistan cricket’s selection process. However, he recently stepped away from the national selection committee, bringing his involvement in that role to an end.
The Nepal Premier League is scheduled to take place from October 26 to November 21, bringing together teams to compete for the title.
Sudurpaschim Royals will look to benefit from Misbah’s experience as they prepare for the competition. His background in international cricket, along with his previous responsibilities as Pakistan’s head coach, could prove valuable in guiding the squad through the tournament.
The appointment also reflects the growing opportunities for experienced international coaches in franchise-based cricket leagues across the region.
With the tournament approaching, Misbah will have the task of helping Sudurpaschim Royals prepare for the challenges ahead and build a competitive side capable of making a strong impression in the Nepal Premier League.
