Sanaa – The Houthi group announced on Saturday that it had targeted the Al-Nasr camp and a naval base in the southern Yemeni city of Aden, following reports of explosions near the international airport and the coast guard headquarters.
The group's military spokesman, Yahya Saree, stated that the attack targeted military gatherings allegedly being prepared by Saudi officers for operations against Houthi forces.
Saree did not provide details about the type of weapons used or the results of the attack, and no information was immediately available regarding casualties or material damage.
The Houthi announcement followed reports from local sources of three explosions in Aden. Two of the explosions occurred near Aden International Airport in the Khormaksar district, and the third in the Tawahi district, near the coast guard headquarters.
This attack follows a series of attacks in Aden during October, targeting its international airport and the Maashiq Palace complex, the seat of the Yemeni government.
On October 15, the Yemeni government announced that the Maashiq Palace had been targeted by missiles and drones, while the Minister of Health reported that five people were killed and 16 others, including guards and staff, were injured.
The Yemeni Ministry of Transport also announced that Aden Airport was attacked with two ballistic missiles on October 16, coinciding with a Yemen Airways flight preparing to depart for Cairo, which necessitated its evacuation.
Local authorities in Aden accused the Houthis of attempting to disrupt air traffic and targeting vital infrastructure, while affirming that the government and its institutions would continue to operate despite the attacks.
