Colombo, October 23 (Daily Mirror): Dematagoda Police have denied social media reports claiming that a statement was recorded from a youth over a traditional “Vas Kavi” (imprecatory poem).
According to the Dematagoda Police Station, no complaints have been received regarding the alleged incident, and no statements have been recorded from any individual in connection with the matter.
Police also rejected as false and baseless claims circulated on social media by Attorney-at-Law Sudath Wickramaratne, alleging that officers had recorded a statement from an individual over a “Vas Kavi.”
Meanwhile, acting on the direct instructions of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the Central Crime Investigation Bureau has launched an investigation into the dissemination of the alleged false information.
