GWANGJU — The Kwangju Bank (192530) is launching a second round of its weekly cash reward event after strong customer response to the first round.
The bank said on the 20th that it will run the second "Jumeoni" event — a name playing on the Korean word for pocket and the idea of picking up weekly money — through Jan. 31, 2027. The event is a follow-up to the first round held earlier.
The first round offered weekly cash rewards to customers who increased the balances in their checking accounts. Participation was heavy enough to exhaust the allocated budget ahead of schedule, and the bank said it prepared the second event as a gesture of appreciation.
Eligible participants are individual customers and sole proprietors who hold a checking account with the bank. After signing up, customers can receive cash rewards by meeting weekly balance growth targets. Whether a target has been met is measured against the average balance in September of this year. Rewards are determined by comparing the increase in the average checking account balance from Monday through Sunday each week.
Weekly average balance growth targets are divided into four tiers: increases of at least 1 million won, at least 10 million won, at least 50 million won and at least 100 million won. Depending on the tier reached, weekly cash rewards range from 600 won to a maximum of 12,000 won.
Customers who meet their target every week during the event period can receive up to 180,000 won each. The event may end early if the budget is exhausted.
"We are grateful for the strong interest and support customers showed in the first event," said Moon Sang-yong, head of the bank's new growth business division. "We prepared this follow-up event so that more customers can find enjoyment in managing their assets through everyday banking and receive tangible benefits as well."
