Planning your Florianópolis in October
October is spring: mild to warm, humid and changeable, with frequent rain. Coastal wind can make evenings cooler on the Beira-Mar waterfront. Check a forecast shortly before each outdoor event.
12 October 2026 is Nossa Senhora Aparecida, a Brazilian national public holiday. It is also Children’s Day, but Children’s Day is not itself a public holiday. Expect reduced opening hours at some shops and heavier traffic on the bridges and beaches.
Getting around at night is easiest by car or ride-hailing app. Buses run less often after midnight, and Arena Opus in São José and the mainland waterfront need a bridge crossing, so plan your return in advance.
Tickets are sold on several platforms: Uhuu, Ingresse, Minha Entrada, Blueticket and Pensa no Evento. Foreign cards usually work online, but some small venues prefer Pix, Brazil’s instant bank transfer, so ask in advance if you have no Brazilian bank account.
What it means for you: a visitor with only one free evening gets the most for the least on Sunday 18 October, when Vivo Música costs nothing and sits next to the mainland waterfront. For indoor options in wet weather, the Camerata concert and the Ernesto Neto show are the cheapest choices.
We could not verify every event announced for the period. Smaller bar shows and private parties are left out on purpose, and we listed no event without a date, venue and organiser or ticket page.
