Imphal, Oct 24 : Manipur People’s Party (MPP) today raised five demands at a press meet at its conference hall in Imphal.
MPP spokesperson Dr Seram Rojesh demanded that Chief Minister Y Khemchand tender an apology to the people of Manipur in connection with the killing of three Meiteis and injuring of three others in an ambush by Kuki militants when they had gone to collect firewood in the Sunurok Uyok hills, after the CM claimed free movement in Manipur. He also demanded resignation of Home Minister Konthoujam Govindas for failing to protect people’s lives and property.
As third demand, he demanded abrogation of Suspension of Operation (SoO) with Kuki militants, stating that peace cannot be restored in Manipur without its abrogation.
MPP also demanded early resettlement of IDPs in relief camps under a policy and enforcement of free movement across Manipur by State and Central Governments.
