National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted approval for five take-off programmes for the newly established Euston University, Abakaliki, Ebonyi.
The approval came after a successful Resource Verification exercise conducted by the Commission to assess the university’s readiness to commence academic activities for the 2026/2027 academic session.
Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Felicia Moh, who disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Abakaliki at the weekend, listed the approved programmes as Nursing Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Public Health, Computer Science and Cybersecurity.

According to her, the approval followed the visit of the NUC Resource Verification Team to the university campus to evaluate the adequacy of its facilities, infrastructure, equipment and human resources.
“The NUC team was received by the principal officers and key officials of the University, led by the Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Professor Felicia Moh,” the statement added.
Professor Moh expressed appreciation to the Commission for the thorough exercise and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to sustaining regulatory standards for quality university education.
She also commended the Chancellor of the university, Lady Eunice Egwu, for her vision and huge investment in expanding access to quality higher education for young people in Ebonyi State and beyond.
Moh noted that the institution has made significant investments in infrastructure, academic facilities and human resources to provide a conducive environment for teaching, learning and research, while lauding the NUC for its ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening university education in the country.
She described the successful verification and approval as a major milestone in the development of Euston University, paving the way for full commencement of academic activities.
“Prospective students, parents, guardians and members of the general public are therefore invited to take advantage of the opportunity to secure admission into the available programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session. Admission spaces are limited,” she stated.
