The President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has commended the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, and the Ghana Police Service for improved safety and security as well as crime investigations across the country.
He made the remarks today, October 13, 2026, during the commissioning of a new 85-bed ward complex at the Ghana Police Hospital to improve healthcare delivery for police personnel, their families, and the general public.
He noted that the new facility was part of efforts to improve the welfare of police personnel, who often face physical and psychological demands in the line of duty. He stressed the need for officers injured during operations to receive timely and quality medical care.

The President urged the hospital’s management and staff to maintain high standards of hygiene, patient safety, and professional care, and to ensure that the facility and its equipment were properly maintained.
