Bayern Munich youngster Tim Binder is set to make his first appearance in the club’s senior squad after being selected for Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League clash against Arsenal.
According to Sky, the 19-year-old has been included in the squad in place of Michael Olise, who is suspended after receiving a second yellow card against Viking Stavanger the previous week.
Olise’s dismissal left Bayern a man down against the Norwegian side, who went on to score a late equaliser in a 3-3 draw.
Binder, meanwhile, caught the attention of Bayern supporters with an impressive performance in the derby against 1860 Munich last weekend.
Playing for Bayern’s reserve side in the Regionalliga, the teenager set up Anton Heinz’s opening goal before scoring himself to secure a 2-0 lead.
He later provoked a reaction from the home supporters at the Grünwalder Stadion by celebrating in front of the stand occupied by 1860 Munich fans. Binder ran towards them, cupped his left ear and slid on his knees towards the corner flag.
The winger is regarded as one of the leading talents in Bayern’s youth ranks. He joined the club from Bundesliga rivals FC Augsburg’s youth set-up in 2019.
