We would like to stress that the loss of trust among so many community members is an urgent issue

We members of the Gaelic College Foundation wish to publicly state for the readership here in our communities that our concerns have not been met in good faith by the board of governors who are meant to represent us.

We ask that the board honour its own public statements and hold the meeting we have requested.
There have been repeated requests for a meeting since August, which have been ignored, in defiance of the rules governing the board and foundation via its own provincial legislation, The Gaelic College Foundation Act: “A special meeting of the Foundation may be called at any time by the Board, or shall be called by the Board when requested in writing by at least 25 members of the Foundation.”
We asked for a meeting to take place before the strategic planning session of Oct. 29 with no response.
The board has been asked for the agenda to the strategic planning session with no response.
The board has been asked if foundation members can submit an item for inclusion on the agenda to the strategic planning session with no response.
We would like to stress that the loss of trust among so many community members is an urgent issue.
We are asking for the open communication and constructive dialogue that the board has committed to.
Signed,
