Garrett Mitchell was one of the multiple heroes for the Milwaukee Brewers in their comeback win against the Los Angeles Dodgers, 6-2, in Game 3 of the NLCS on Wednesday. The Brewers are now a win away from sweeping the Dodgers and advancing to the World Series.
Mitchell hit a home run in the seventh inning off Blake Snell, following up the earlier dinger of Jake Bauers, to give Milwaukee the much-needed momentum in crunch time, shocking the packed crowd at Dodger Stadium.
In the postgame interview, the 28-year-old hitter touted the way they stayed together, underscoring their resilience amid the pressure.

“No matter what happens, especially in the postseason. Punches are gonna be thrown. It’s gonna be a back-and-forth (battle). You can’t really stop yourself from being punched, but it’s how you respond to those punches. And we responded,” said Mitchell.

He had one hit, one run scored, one RBI, one walk, and two strikeouts.
Mitchell shared what was going through his mind before stepping to the plate in the seventh inning, while also tipping his hate to Snell.
“My thought as I was getting prepared was the potential of if he (Bauers) gets on there, laying down a bunt. He puts together a heck of an at-bat, hits a homer, so I was just stoked that I got to go up there and just win,” said Garrett with a laugh.
“He’s (Snell) such a great pitcher. He throws hard. Nothing’s really straight. For me, at that at-bat, I was really just trying to get something over the heart of the plate and try to make contact, obviously. That’s (home run) not what I was trying to do, but I got a pitch to hit.”
The Brewers will try to finish off the Dodgers in Game 4 on Wednesday and advance to the World Series for the second time in franchise history.
