CAMDEN, N.J. -- For the most part, the Philadelphia 76ers are pretty healthy as they head into opening night with the New York Knicks. The Sixers are expected to have Joel Embiid, LeBron James, Jaylen Brown, Tyrese Maxey, and VJ Edgecombe all ready to go.
However, there are some injury questions for the bench unit. Most notably, big man Dean Wade, who was taken out of the preseason finale at halftime out of precaution over an ankle issue he suffered in the first half.
As the Sixers got back to work on Sunday, Wade along with Dominick Barlow, Tacko Fall, and Ariel Hukporti all missed practice. Coach Nick Nurse gave an update on Wade as Philadelphia moves forward.
"He was still a little sore," Nurse said of Wade. "He was not a participant today. So yeah, we won’t know on that one, I guess. We’ll wait and see tomorrow (Monday) if there’s any progress and go from there."

While Wade's status remains to be seen, one does have to wonder about Edgecombe. The second-year guard was held out of the preseason finale, and Nurse offered a little update on him.
"He didn’t play in the game the other night," Nurse stated. "He woke up a little sore, so we held him out of the game kind of out of kind of caution, but he was in today. In practice today."
When asked if Edgecombe is on track to play on Tuesday, Nurse believes he will be ready to go.
"I believe so," the coach finished. "He was out there today, so it’s pointing that way, yeah."
The Sixers will look to make a statement on the road in the opener on Tuesday.
