The Education Ministry is considering ways of dealing with increasingly aggressive pupils. Police recorded 830 incidents in schools involving children or juveniles in the first six months of this year. Officers classified roughly a third as serious manifestations of aggression or radicalisation.
One possible last-resort measure would be temporary exclusion from school. The ministry is also considering greater support for specialist educational institutions and legislative changes, including making parents more accountable for their children’s behaviour. However, findings show that aggression among juveniles is often directed at their parents as well.
