The Night in Context
Thursday is a gentler night than the weekend for ticketed live music in São Paulo. Blue Note SP runs two sessions a night, so one ticket buys one show rather than a full evening.
Avenida Paulista is the main avenue of São Paulo’s business district, and the Conjunto Nacional is the large building at number 2073. Blue Note SP is on its second floor, and Consolação Metro station is a short walk away.
Vila Buarque is a central district of older buildings, close to the centre of the city. JazzB, on Rua General Jardim, is a small room where the music is the main event.
Brazil also votes in the presidential runoff on Sunday 25 October, three days from tonight. Election day falls on a Sunday, so check transport and opening hours before you plan that weekend.
Programmes in small venues change at short notice, so confirm with the venue before you go. Line-ups come from venue pages and ticket listings checked on the morning of 22 October, and several ticket pages did not show prices.
Practical Notes
- —Transport Consolação Metro station, on Line 2 (Green), is a short walk from the Conjunto Nacional. An Uber or 99 ride is the easiest way to reach Vila Buarque or Pinheiros late at night.
- —Weather Expect about 19°C (66°F) and almost no rain. A light jacket is enough.
- —Tickets Buy through Eventim, Sympla or the venue’s own site, and avoid street sellers outside the venue.
- —Safety Carry a copy of your passport rather than the original, keep phones in a front pocket and agree the pick-up point with your driver before the show ends.
What We Could Not Confirm
- —Prices We could not read ticket prices for Blue Note SP, JazzB, Bona Casa de Música or Villa Country.
- —Times We could not confirm the start times at Bona Casa de Música, Villa Country and Bourbon Street.
- —Sold out The Blue Note and JazzB pages do not mark tonight’s shows as sold out, and we could not check live availability.
