Are Coronation Street’s Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) and Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) about to have their futures as the owners of the Rovers Return put in jeopardy?
It’s certainly possible, as star Antony Cotton has been speaking about the future of his character Sean Tully – and it involves taking over the local pub!
Life for Sean has been quiet of late, but a break from the Weatherfield drama has been needed. Earlier this year, he faced a huge problem when he discovered that son Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) put girlfriend Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) in hospital.
Betsy suffered multiple strokes, which happened after Dylan put pressure on her neck during sex. Dylan and Sean initially spent time in denial over what happened, and even tried to suggest that someone else was responsible for causing Betsy’s ordeal.

Sean has become known for working behind the bar at the Rovers, always offering sarcastic remarks to those who arrive in the boozer.
Recently, star Antony Cotton revealed that he has been pondering over what he wants Sean’s future to look like, and hopes there will be a time where his role at the pub is a little more than someone who pulls pints.
‘Eventually, I would love for Sean, even if it’s only for a short while, to be the landlord of the Rovers, with his name above the door’, he said in a chat with Digital Spy.
‘That would be a real treat, maybe I’m not old enough for that, I still think that I’m 21 in my head!’.
The actor also gave a small insight into the drama expected to unfold over the festive period in Corrie:
‘We just filmed Christmas. I don’t read any of the other stuff. I only know what I do. I’m not on Christmas Day; I’m on before, and I’m on after.
‘There’s a thing that happens on Christmas Day, but I’m not involved in that story, but I’m on before and after, and then New Year’s.
‘So we’ve just finished doing all that, which is always a bit hectic.’
