Tea to Tan Face and Body
Why it’s Vogue-approved: By Terry Tea to Tan is a lightweight bronzing spray that serves as a secret weapon for a luminous, realistic glow in seconds. A favourite among professional make-up artists, it comes highly recommended to instantly warm up a pale complexion without the commitment of self-tanner or sun exposure. The hydrating mist is made with 97 per cent naturally derived ingredients that feel lightweight and refreshing on the complexion – yet it is also long-wearing and transfer-resistant, leaving the skin with a soft matte finish. The instant bronzing effect is achieved through ultra-fine pigments that don’t stain the skin and instead wash off easily with water at the end of the day. The inclusion of organic cherry, black tea, and red tea extracts enriches the skin to revitalise, protect and smooth.

FAQs
When is the best time to apply face tanner?
“Facial tanning can fit seamlessly into both morning and evening routines,” says Sara Leow, St Tropez senior brand manager. “Try tanning drops in your night cream before bed to wake up glowing.”
How often should I use face tanner?
“The frequency depends on your desired intensity,” advises Leow. “During high summer, for a rich, deep bronze, one to two days is ideal. In cooler months, reapply every three days or as needed to maintain your glow. A handy tip: apply all over on day one, then on day two, target contour areas like cheekbones for a semi-permanent, sculpted effect.”
How do I apply face tanner?
“This depends on your favourite tanning format,” says Leow. “Tanning formulas really come down to a personal preference. Each formulation carries different ingredients; therefore, they can work better for specific skin types or concerns. A mist is one of the easiest and most foolproof ways to tan your face. You simply hold the bottle about 30cm from your face and gently spritz a few times. It will only take a few seconds to try and start developing.”
Can I use my regular skincare routine when I apply face tanner?
Absolutely, says Leow, but proper skincare prep is essential for achieving the best results. “Start with a clean, well-prepped face, and exfoliate any dry or flaky areas to ensure smooth and even application. Be mindful to avoid oil-based skincare products, as these can interfere with the development of any self-tan.”
Is there anyone who shouldn’t use face tanner?
“Modern facial tanning formulations work well on all skin tones and types. However, it’s best to avoid using it on areas with open wounds, irritation, or inflammation to ensure optimal skin health and product performance,” says Leow.
