The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has clarified the procedure for obtaining a child’s B-Form, officially known as the Child Registration Certificate (CRC), when the mother’s Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) is unavailable.
Public Information Officer Syed Shabahat Ali explained that the process depends on whether the mother’s CNIC has been issued but is currently missing, or was never issued at all.
If the CNIC has already been issued but the physical card is unavailable at the time of the NADRA center visit, it may not pose a major problem.
Her identity can still be verified through her CNIC number or biometric verification, including fingerprints.
However, if the mother has never been issued a CNIC, obtaining the child’s B-Form becomes more difficult.
In such cases, the parents’ marriage may not be registered in official records, and a family number may not have been issued, creating gaps that can complicate the child’s registration.
Parents facing this situation may need to resolve the missing identity or family registration records before applying for the child’s B-Form.
How to Apply for a Replacement B-Form
NADRA has also outlined the procedure for replacing a lost B-Form. Applicants can visit their nearest NADRA Registration Centre or apply from home through the Pak ID mobile application.
The replacement fee is Rs50 under the normal category and Rs500 under the executive category. The B-Form is an essential document used to register children in Pakistan’s national database.
