GCCL of GC Biopharma Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with LabConnect, a global central laboratory service and clinical trial specimen solution company, on Oct. 12 to expand global clinical trial cooperation.
This agreement was promoted to link the regional expertise of both companies based on their cooperative relationship that has continued for over 20 years. GCCL and LabConnect plan to focus on discovering joint business opportunities in North America and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region and increasing the operational efficiency of global clinical trial projects.
Key officials, including GCCL CEO Cho Kwan-goo, LabConnect Founder Jeff Mayhew, and Senior Vice President Joshua Gentile, attended the signing ceremony held at the GCCL headquarters to discuss specific cooperation measures. The two companies set major tasks, including sales support to discover potential customers within the regions, support for global clinical trials and connection of specimen analysis services, and cooperation in project management and customer communication.
Under the agreement, clinical trials in the Asia-Pacific region, including South Korea, will be conducted focusing on GCCL's specimen analysis and project execution capabilities. On the other hand, clinical trials conducted in overseas regions such as North America will be structured to actively utilize and support LabConnect's global central laboratory capabilities. The two companies plan to promote joint marketing while establishing a practical collaboration system for customer response and project management.
Jeff Mayhew, Founder and Strategic Business Advisor of LabConnect, stated, "Through cooperation with GCCL, we are now able to support complex clinical trials in the Asia-Pacific region more efficiently," and added, "We will provide systematic services for multi-regional clinical trials by combining the specimen analysis and logistics management capabilities of both companies."
GCCL CEO Cho Kwan-goo emphasized, "We will combine GCCL's execution capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region with LabConnect's global laboratory cooperation base," and added, "We will expand global business opportunities through practical collaboration from joint sales to project execution."
