She said the stranger's actions left a lasting impression on her, particularly because, according to her account, other people at the scene were taking photographs and recording videos instead of helping her.
"Your actions remind me that people with good hearts still exist in this world," Susan wrote, expressing her gratitude to the man who risked his time to save her life.
She described the rescuer as her "Shujaa" and guardian angel, saying she had carried the memory of his kindness in her heart for nine years.
Susan added that she would forever be grateful that God had placed the stranger in her path, a gesture that transformed him into someone she would never forget.
Her message was a reminder that heroism can come from ordinary people who choose to act when someone is in danger, even when they have no personal connection to the person in need.
As Kenyans celebrated Mashujaa Day, Susan's tribute highlighted a different kind of heroism: the courage to help a stranger in a moment of crisis without expecting anything in return.
Nine years later, the rescue remains a defining memory for Susan, who continues to honour the man whose intervention helped ensure she reached medical care.
