Now 78% off on Steam, this real-time tactics game is loved by 74% of players

War Mongrels is a real-time tactics game based on World War II. On the Eastern Front in 1944, you take control of two German deserters whose goal is to fight and save innocent lives.

Several missions, inspired by the horrors of war, are available. Its gameplay, which combines tactics, stealth, and adventure, requires you to adopt different strategies for each mission. You'll be able to interact with your environment to progress. However, if you're spotted, you can use your weapons or try to escape.

Throughout your adventure, other characters will join you. Each of them has their own weapons, skills, and personality. As a result, you'll have to adapt your playstyle and think carefully before taking any action. In addition, if you want to play with a friend, a co-op mode is also available.

Despite a rocky launch on Steam on October 19, 2021, War Mongrels has a 74% positive rating based on 2,512 reviews. In fact, many enjoy its graphics and historical context. Often described as a Commandos-like, War Mongrels is also praised for its different missions and gameplay mechanics.

However, some players are still complaining about bugs that don't seem to have been fixed. The controls are also being criticized. Furthermore, some players find the game too difficult, although others disagree.

According to SteamDB, it is priced at $9.89 instead of $44.99, with a 78% discount that lasts until October 19, 2026. However, its lowest price was $4.11 on April 13, 2026, when it was 84% off.
