Nollywood veteran Kanayo O. Kanayo has called on the Nigerian Police Force to review its checkpoint strategy, saying his recent 10-day film shoot in Ghana offered him a different perspective on road policing.
“I’m just returning from 10 days of movie shooting in Ghana, and I observed some differences between the Ghana Police and the Nigeria Police. I’m not here to compare, but the Nigeria Police needs some adjustments. I also commend IGP Disu for the reforms he has introduced so far.” -Nollywood legend Kanayo O. Kanayo has shared his observations after returning to Nigeria from Ghana, noting that police checkpoints in Ghana are mostly located in strategic areas. He said the numerous checkpoints in Nigeria could embarrass tourists, as some officers allegedly ask unnecessary questions. He also commended Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu for his ongoing efforts to reform the Nigeria Police Force.
