INDO Zambia Bank has reaffirmed its support for the ZAFFICO Marathon 2026, returning as a cooperating partner for the second consecutive year.
Speaking at the media briefing and unveiling of the marathon kit, General Manager Godwin C. Ngoma said the bank’s continued partnership reflects its belief in initiatives that bring communities together, promote healthy living and support social causes.
The 2026 marathon will be held under the theme “Run for Maternal Health. Run for Nature.”
Ngoma said the marathon is more than a sporting event and provides a platform for collective action.
“Maternal health remains a critical issue that affects families, communities, and the nation as a whole. Every mother deserves access to quality care and support throughout pregnancy and childbirth,” he said.
The environmental component aligns with the bank’s environmental, social and governance policy, he said, noting ZAFFICO’s role in forestry and conservation.
“Our ESG Policy recognizes that Environment is one of our most valuable resources, and we all have a responsibility to protect it. Trees sustain ecosystems, support biodiversity, contribute to economic livelihoods, and play a vital role in combating climate change,” Ngoma said.
The marathon will feature four race categories: 7.5 kilometers, 10 kilometers, 21 kilometers and 42.2 kilometers.
Ngoma urged members of the public to register and participate, saying events like the marathon encourage regular physical activity.
“Beyond the unveiling of the marathon kit, what we are truly supporting today is a message: A message of health. A message of unity. A message of Environmental responsibility. A message of hope and compassion for mothers and families,” he said.
The ZAFFICO Marathon is organized by Zambia Forestry and Forest Industries Corporation in partnership with Ndola Fitness Sqaud.
