The Congress-led Opposition will march to the Supreme Court on Monday under the banner of “Chalo Delhi - March for Democracy”, escalating its protest over allegations of “vote chori” against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge had sought a meeting with Chief Justice of India Surya Kant to raise the issue. However, the CJI declined to meet Rahul Gandhi, with sources saying similar matters are already sub judice before the Supreme Court. The march is scheduled to begin from the Connaught Place-Barakhamba Road junction at 1.30 pm. Rahul Gandhi said the protest would bring together Indians across party lines, gender, caste, community and states. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced that entry and exit at six metro stations would remain closed from 6 am to 4 pm for security reasons. The affected stations are Patel Chowk, Janpath, Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, Central Secretariat and Barakhamba Road. Interchange facilities will remain available at all six stations, the DMRC said, adding that security agencies would review the situation and issue updates if required. The march follows protests in Delhi over the alleged manipulation of electoral rolls, with the Congress demanding accountability from the Election Commission.
