This fan encounter left quite the mark.
“Melrose Place” alum Grant Show revealed he was bitten by a fan’s jealous boyfriend at the height of the show’s fame.
Show, who played bad boy Jake Hanson on the ‘90s soap opera, recounted the wild interaction during a panel moderated by People during ’90s Con on Sunday.
“I was at a nightclub. It was a couple sitting behind me. She was a fan of the show and a fan of Jake’s and she kept paying a lot of attention to me,” he recalled.
The actor quickly noticed that her boyfriend “was not very happy,” so he tried to be polite, but the man lashed out at him.
“I said, ‘My name is Grant. What’s your name?’ He took my hand, bit it,” Show shockingly revealed. “So I took my hand back.”
The hit show, created by Darren Star and directed by Aaron Spelling, followed the lives of a group of young adults living in an apartment complex in West Hollywood, California.
It aired for seven seasons from 1992 to 1999.
The show had many cast changes during its run, but some cast members included Thomas Calabro, Andrew Shue, Heather Locklear and Marcia Cross.
As for the character of Jake Hanson, he was the central bad boy and blue-collar hero in “Melrose Place” for Season 1 through 5 and was originally introduced via “Beverly Hills, 90210.”
Cast members Laura Leighton, Courtney Thorne-Smith and Daphne Zuniga exclusively spoke to Page Six about the show’s outrageous storylines throughout its run.
“Every week, I was like, ‘Seriously, what the f–k?’ And OK, this is what we’re doing this week,” Leighton told us.
“It was definitely a ride of, you know, open the script and say, ‘What’s it going to be?’ and then go, ‘All right, that’s what we’re doing!’”
“We knew it was ridiculous,” Thorne-Smith confessed. “We tried to bring humor. We pushed as far as we could … which is why I think it worked.
“If we’d taken it really seriously, I don’t think it would have worked as well. Like, we took our work seriously, but we also understood that it was getting crazier and crazier and crazier.”
