All schools in Dindigul district will remain closed on Monday (October 26) due to rains, District Collector Durgamoorthy announced here on Sunday. Tourists have been advised to avoid visiting Kodaikanal and nearby hill areas like Thandikudi due to intense Northeast Monsoon conditions and heavy rainfall. With heavy rain warning in Dindigul district and intensified Northeast monsoon conditions, night travel on the Kodaikanal hill road has been restricted as a precautionary measure. On the Palani-Kodaikanal road, police were advising drivers to travel carefully because of continuous rain and said that all tourist destinations in Kodaikanal have been completely closed for two days.
