Pakistan’s gold market has experienced significant volatility this year. Prices peaked at Rs616,790 per tola in February before declining to Rs421,713 in July. The market subsequently recovered, with gold closing September at Rs443,981 per tola.
Gold prices in Pakistan will largely depend on international market movements and the rupee-dollar exchange rate. Rising global prices or a weaker rupee could push rates higher, while a stronger US dollar or investor profit-taking could trigger a decline.
Interest rate expectations, geopolitical tensions and local market conditions may also influence future prices.
With gold trading above Rs440,000 per tola and silver setting new records, buyers should monitor daily rates and compare jewellery-making charges before making a purchase. Despite the latest recovery, gold remains considerably below its February peak, amid market’s unpredictable nature.
