Former Celtic winger Joel Mvuka has enjoyed a positive week back at Bodo/Glimt, scoring his first league goal in almost two years before making his Champions League debut.
The Norwegian endured a frustrating spell at Parkhead after joining Celtic on loan earlier this year, making just two appearances totalling less than 90 minutes.
Celtic had initially agreed a £3million permanent deal for Mvuka, although a medical issue resulted in the transfer being renegotiated into a loan arrangement.
However, the winger struggled to make an impact in Glasgow and subsequently returned to Bodo/Glimt, where he has gradually worked his way back into first-team contention.
Mvuka finally ended his goalscoring drought at the weekend, producing an impressive outside-of-the-foot finish during his side’s 2-0 victory over Hamarkameratene.
It was his first league goal since December 2024 and marked another encouraging step in his attempts to rediscover his best form.
The former Celtic loanee then reached another career milestone on Tuesday evening, making his Champions League debut during Bodo/Glimt’s dramatic 4-3 defeat to Napoli.
Mvuka was introduced with five minutes remaining as the Norwegian champions attempted to overturn a two-goal deficit, although they ultimately fell short despite Sondre Fet’s late consolation.
While his brief spell at Celtic proved disappointing, the 23-year-old appears to be making progress back in familiar surroundings.
