Police have identified a Toyota Fortuner allegedly involved in the death of a four-year-old Siberian husky named Kai in Gulshan, though the driver's identity remains unknown.
The dog's owner, Ipsha Nazia Adiba, filed a case on Monday, citing the vehicle's registration number.
The incident occurred around 9am on 22 September on Road 63 in Gulshan-2. Adiba alleged that the black SUV ran over Kai and left without stopping.
Investigating officer Sub-Inspector Sakhawat Hossain told The Business Standard that police were examining CCTV footage and questioning residents. Preliminary evidence indicated driver negligence, but investigators had yet to confirm who was driving.
The vehicle was traced to a house on Road 68 in Gulshan following Adiba's Facebook appeal for help identifying it. She has urged police to identify and arrest the driver to prevent similar incidents.
