In the video recorded in his car, Mosiria seemed to openly defy his superiors, daring them to dismiss him rather than expect him to walk away quietly.
Mosiria's Defiant Stand
His remarks came in the wake of an earlier reshuffle in which he felt targeted. Rather than accept pressure to step down, Mosiria drew a firm line.
"I cannot resign. If you don't want me, fire me," he said in the clip. "If you don't want me, you can write a letter on Monday, and I'll leave with evidence."
He was equally clear that his intention was not to pick a fight with those above him, but to speak plainly about what he believed was going wrong inside the county government.
Mosiria went further, painting a bleak picture of conditions within the city's administration while maintaining that he was only correcting the wrongs.
Sakaja's Reshuffle Triggers the Fallout
He alleged that Nairobi County workers were being neglected while those at the top benefited personally.
"Nairobi County employees are suffering. There is nothing that is working in the city. The only thing working is people's pockets around the senior bosses and the bosses," he said.
The controversy unfolded after Governor Sakaja carried out a reshuffle within the county government, a move that appears to have triggered the standoff with Mosiria.
Mosiria's willingness to go public with his grievances, rather than pursue internal channels, was a rare and openly confrontational moment between a county employee and county leadership.
His claim that he holds evidence relevant to his situation added another dimension to what may unfold in the coming days.
