The Bharatiya Janata Party has alleged bogus voting by the Congress party in Karnataka's Haveri during the MLC elections. The BJP claimed that a Congress worker, identified as Shilpa, cast a vote under the name of Asha Patil, the wife of District Congress Committee President Sanjeev Kumar Patil. According to the BJP, the woman was seen entering the polling booth alongside Karnataka Minister Rudrappa Lamani. BJP MLA Mahesh Tenginkai shared a video alleging the malpractice, demanding answers from the Congress leadership and calling for legal action. BJP spokesperson G.S. Prashanth stated that the party is pursuing necessary legal steps and formal representations. Responding to the charges, Congress spokesperson Shripad Renu dismissed the allegations as completely baseless, calling them false narratives and fairy tales spun by the opposition. He argued that video clips alone do not establish facts and asserted that the ruling party in the state has not indulged in any electoral misconduct.

JNU and Jamia Face Fresh Row Over Umar Khalid, Naxalbari and Kashmir Graffiti
A major political controversy has erupted following the appearance of controversial graffiti across university campuses in the national capital. At Jawaharlal Nehru University, slogans demanding the release of Umar Khalid and hailing Naxalbari surfaced on walls, alongside alleged objectionable text near a portrait of Veer Savarkar. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad accused left-wing student outfits of defacing campus property and disrupting the academic environment, demanding strict action. The JNU administration confirmed an internal inquiry and stated that attempts to disturb campus peace would not be tolerated. This row follows similar tensions at Jamia Millia Islamia, where slogans supporting Sharjeel Imam and demanding 'Free Kashmir' appeared amid protests calling for the reinstatement of student union elections. While the Jamia administration accused political leaders of trespassing and inciting unrest, the opposition denied raising anti-national slogans, accusing the ruling party of deliberate provocation.
