Hyundai AutoEver (307950.KS) has unveiled a policing and security solution that combines artificial intelligence video analysis and integrated control technology with MobED, the autonomous driving robot developed by Hyundai Motor (005380.KS) and Kia (000270.KS).
The company said on the 22nd that it presented an operating model linking a MobED-based patrol robot with an AI control system at the 2026 International Police Industry Exhibition, which opened on the 21st.
Under the system, the patrol robot moves through a site on a set schedule and transmits relevant video to the control platform in real time when it detects irregularities. The platform analyzes the footage with AI to assess the situation and helps managers respond. It can be used to cover areas that are difficult to monitor with existing closed-circuit television or patrol personnel.
MobED, the platform used for the patrol robot, is a four-wheeled mobile robot developed by the Robotics Lab at Hyundai Motor and Kia. The MobED Pro version carries two lidar units and three depth cameras, allowing it to recognize nearby obstacles and drive autonomously. It can adjust its body height and tilt to climb slopes or curbs of up to 20 centimeters.
At the exhibition, Hyundai AutoEver demonstrated how the patrol robot detects irregularities and how the AI analyzes the video. The company plans to provide an integrated package for public security sites covering the entire process, from robot deployment to building the control system and handling operations and maintenance.
"Robots are not a technology that replaces police officers but a partner that helps them make faster and more accurate judgments and responses in the field," said Park Bong-gu, head of Hyundai AutoEver's business development center. "We will organically connect robots, AI and control technology to effectively support policing work in the public sector."
