Veteran wide receiver Mike Evans is in the midst of his 13th NFL season, but first as a member of the San Francisco 49ers organization.
Evans joined the 49ers in free agency this past offseason, ending his 12-year stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Evans is off to a great start in his first season with the 49ers, reeling in 24 catches for 326 yards and three touchdowns through his first five games. He balled out in last week's closely-contested win over the reigning Super Bowl-champion Seattle Seahawks, catching seven passes for 113 yards and a score.
Evans recently explained why he left the Buccaneers to join the 49ers before their 2026 campaign.
“This team rejuvenated me and probably added a few more years to my career," Evans said, via Buccaneers reporter Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. "They had everything I needed and checked every box. They’re trying to win now. The quarterback, great skill players, great defense, great coaching staff, and lastly, a great organization.”
The 49ers are 5-0 to begin the 2026 season, primed in excellent position to make a title run.
Evans is listed as questionable to play in Monday night's Week 6 matchup against the Washington Commanders as he deals with a ribs injury and Achilles soreness.
