The Green Bay Packers have won each of their past two games after revamping their offensive line on the fly. By signing several veterans for depth and finding the right combination of players who actually perform well in the trenches, the Packers offense has looked much better over the course of the last two weeks than it did in the first three games of the season.
Still, Green Bay ranks dead last in the NFL with 60.4 rushing yards per game. The struggles the team has had to gain yards on the ground has been highlighted in large part by the absence of Pro Bowl running back Josh Jacobs.
As fans are well aware, Jacobs is currently on the commissioners exempt list following his arrest and eventual no contest plea for domestic violence.
Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs has sued the police department
The NFL is currently conducting an investigation into Jacobs to determine what consequence he will face from the league. If they deem his actions worthy of a suspension, the time he has already missed will count towards the number of games they dock.
Jacobs, however, is not making the process easy on them. The league requested the video evidence in the case so that they could come to a more informed decision. The Packers running back, however, has filed a lawsuit to prevent that evidence from being released:
“Packers running back Josh Jacobs has filed a civil suit seeking a permanent injunction restricting access to records from his May 23 altercation with a woman at his home.”
Additionally, the woman who accused Jacobs of domestic violence has filed a restraining order against the police department, which would prevent them from releasing the video to the NFL or any other outlet that requests it.
It seems that neither party wants the public to see what really happened during that altercation.
