A suspected brake failure caused the heavy-duty truck to veer violently into the commercial sedans, crushing them in the process, the report said.
Officials from OYRTMA, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the Nigerian Police were quickly deployed to the scene to maintain order, supervise rescue efforts, and prevent any secondary disasters such as a fuel explosion.
The bodies of the deceased have been evacuated to a nearby morgue, while survivors with varying degrees of injuries are receiving urgent care at local hospitals.
