LOS ANGELES: American actor Keegan Allen, best known for his role in the hit drama series Pretty Little Liars, was left bloodied and traumatised following a violent armed robbery in West Hollywood on Saturday night.
The 37-year-old star shared shocking footage on his Instagram account immediately after the attack, displaying heavy bleeding from his head down to his neck.
Details of the ordeal revealed that Allen was targeted by two armed assailants in a parking area along Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles.
Reliving the terrifying ordeal in his video, Allen said, "I was just robbed, and my watch was stolen. Two guys wearing masks hit me over the head, one pointed a gun at me, and the other had a knife, before running off."
Surveillance footage accompanying his post captured the moment the masked men approached the actor as he was loading items into his vehicle.
One of the suspects repeatedly struck Allen on the head with a handgun during the ambush.
In the post, he wrote: "West Hollywood is not safe anymore."
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) confirmed that emergency services received a call regarding the armed robbery at approximately 9.05pm local time.
Authorities reported that two suspects dressed in all-black attire demanded Allen's watch and bracelet at gunpoint, physically assaulting his face and head before fleeing the scene in a getaway vehicle.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department rendered first aid to the actor at the location.
Expressing deep frustration over local security and safety standards, Allen shared his relief at surviving the life-threatening ordeal, noting that the perpetrators had threatened to kill him over a wristwatch.
In another entry posted yesterday, Allen wrote: "Thank you all for such kind and caring messages.
I'm on the mend. Really grateful to God, law enforcement, medical and my friends and following for being so supportive. I'll update more soon. God bless and be safe."
