A phone is really two promises. The first is that it will keep up with you. The second is that it will keep going. Most phones are good at one, and the compromise shows up around 4 p.m., when the battery is low or the game starts to stutter.
The POVA Curve 2 5G, launched in Pakistan on October 15 at PKR 99,999, is built on a bet that you can have both, and for gamers that is the bet that matters most. TECNO calls it the Beast, and it’s made of two parts: a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G processor and an 8000mAh battery.
The Beast Takes the Controls
The Dimensity 7100 5G is paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and TECNO built the phone around everyday habits: a long gaming session, a video call that runs into a second one, ten apps open at once and a map running in the background.
TECNO says the phone sustains 90 minutes of Free Fire at a stable 60fps, helped by its Ice Cooling 3.0 system, which is there to stop heat from slowing the game down. Heat is the usual reason a phone starts to lag, so how well it stays cool matters as much as how fast it is. The screen is tuned for play too: a curved 144Hz AMOLED display with a 2160Hz instant touch sampling rate and 16x touch resolution. TECNO says response times are ultra-low in games like PUBG and MLBB, and anti-mistouch means wet or oily hands won’t cost you a move.
The part that outlasts the warranty
A processor is easy to praise on launch day. What matters is whether it still feels quick in year three. TECNO says the POVA Curve 2 5G is TÜV Rheinland certified to stay lag-free for six years, and it’s backing that with 2 Android version updates and 3 years of security patches. For a phone at this price, the longer-term promise is the one worth watching.
Big Battery, No Brick: How?
The POVA Curve 2 5G holds 8000mAh in a body just 7.42mm thick and 195g, which TECNO says makes it the slimmest phone among those with an 8000mAh battery. That means charging every two days, with more than 15 days of standby, and 45W fast charging takes it from empty to full in 82 minutes. For gamers, a battery this size means long sessions are far less likely to end at the charger.
Price and the takeaway
The TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G is available across Pakistan from October 15, in 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM, at PKR 99,999. On paper, it does what few phones in its range try: it treats speed and stamina as one problem, and for gamers that is the problem that matters. Whether it holds up over months of daily use is something only owners will be able to say, but the numbers suggest TECNO has built the Beast it promised.
