West Bengal actress Sreelekha Mitra is someone who always loves to express her thoughts openly in front of everyone.
She often takes to social media to speak out about various social injustices or tragic events happening around the world.
The actress recently posted a very emotional and frank post on Facebook about a sensational incident that occurred in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), which instantly created a stir on the internet.
In a Facebook post, Sreelekha wrote that although the world has made tremendous progress in technology and artificial intelligence, people’s freedom and basic right to life are still being taken away in the name of religion.
She called the news of beheading of two people in KSA for kissing in a mosque extremely horrifying.
Expressing her anger in open language, she wrote, “There is no religion greater than love. I believe that the essence of all religions is love.
Spreading fear, hatred and violence in the name of religion is a creation of man, not of God.”
Sreelekha made it clear that fundamentalism and religious fanaticism in the name of any religion, be it Islam, Hinduism or Christianity, are equally abhorrent to her.
